Laura Lynn Seriguchi
August 22, 1953 – October 27, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Laura Lynn Seriguchi, 71, of Naples, Florida, announce her passing on October 27, 2024, in Florida after a long period of illnesses.
Born in Highland Park, Michigan, on August 22, 1953, to Charles Crabb and Gail Henderson, Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who touched countless lives both personally and professionally. She attended Waterford Mott High School before earning her Registered Nurse certification from the Hurley Medical Center School of Nursing in Flint, Michigan. Laura worked first in NICU, then Critical Care at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. From there, Laura joined Apple Medical Supply, Pontiac, Michigan during which time it was acquired by Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. While at Henry Ford Health System, Laura opened the HFH Center for Reproductive Medicine, in Troy, Michigan. She oversaw all aspects of opening the facility including site location, equipment, staffing, and operations. Once the facility was operational, she transitioned to the Henry Ford Medical Group – Clinical Quality Services as Associate for Organizational Transformation. In partnership with HFH Research, her role was to integrate knowledge of best practices to care teams, as well as spreading quality process improvement throughout the corporation. It was during this assignment that Laura began working with the Malcom Baldrige National Quality organization. Her leadership and critical thinking skills led to her appointment to the 1996 Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners in the medical field. Following her appointment to this prestigious position, Laura was promoted to Director and transferred to start up a new program, PACE of Southeastern Michigan. The Henry Ford Health System program was 1 of just 14 PACE programs throughout Michigan. PACE was a non-profit Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly funded by Medicare, Medicaid, sponsoring organizations, and private contributions, with the goal of providing safe, comfortable, healthy support systems to assist adults over age 55 to continue living in their own communities.
After her lengthy stint with the Henry Ford Health System, Laura moved on to hold a variety of positions utilizing her extensive medical and quality background. Not one to turn down a challenge, Laura joined Oakland Animal Hospital in Rochester, Michigan to utilize her Malcom Baldrige Examiner expertise to create the first quality-based process manual geared towards veterinary practices. On completion, it was adopted nationwide by the American Animal Hospital Association as the standard of quality based veterinary care. Once that was adopted and implemented, Laura returned her efforts on improving the care for the elderly population and joined the Detroit branch of the nationwide Area of Aging Agencies as their Executive Director. The DAAA’s mission is to educate, advocate, and promote healthy aging to enable people to make choices about home and community-based services and long-term care that will improve their quality of life.
Laura moved to her final position in the medial field as Executive Director of Medical Monitoring for one of the largest privately owned alarm and monitoring companies in the country. Her responsibility was to expand their market share of personal medical monitoring devices and services in the country. Similar to the “Help I’ve Fallen” panic buttons and watches.
The common thread through her career choices was the desire to help patients in need by improving their medical care.
Laura was also passionate about life beyond her successful career. She had a zest for all types of water sports as well as a golfer, skier, and a love of traveling. Her creativity ran deep as she was also accomplished in tap dancing, acting, photography, painting, sewing, quilting, and cooking. But one of her greatest joys was family, spending time with her husband, brother, sister-in law, daughter, grandchildren, niece, and nephew. Her generosity of spirit extended to the community, where she volunteered at Rookery Bay National Estuary in many capacities and with Team OCEAN as they protected critical wildlife areas during nesting season.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robbin and her daughter, Rachel Fairless (Blaylock) and husband Shannon. She has two grandchildren, Stella and Shia. She is also survived by her brother Charles Napier and wife Vicki (Hooper), their son Alex Napier, their daughter Brittany Robinson (Napier), husband Brian, their children Addie, Cooper, and Luke.
Per Laura’s wishes, there will not be a service. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Verona Walk community Town Center in Naples, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Collier County Domestic Animal Services and reference in memory of Laura Seriguchi. A link to their site is below: https://www.colliercountyfl.gov/government/public-services/divisions/domestic-animal-services/donate
The Seriguchi and Napier families expresses their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of immense loss and remembrance of Laura’s extraordinary life.

Laura will be deeply missed by the Herbster/Frey family. We have many happy memories from their days in Charlevoix, MI where Robbin and Laura were friends of my family in the large boating community there. When we decided to retire in Naples it was wonderful to have Robbin and Laura here to welcome us. We will miss her laugh, love, talking about pickleball, sharing fabulous meals, sharing stories about grandchildren and our shared love of dogs. Laura was the definition of loving others and always being there to help. It was an absolute gift to have known her.
