Mary Rose D’Ottavio Whitmore born in Dover NJ on December 26, 1931 passed away on October 17,
2024 in Naples, FL. Mary was the youngest of 8 siblings, daughter of Gianbattista and Rosina D’Ottavio.
Mary graduated from Dover high school and worked for New Jersey Bell for many years, prior to raising
her 5 children. She was married to Warren Whitmore for 65 years and resided in New Jersey and later in
Florida after retirement. She participated and volunteered in numerous clubs while in Florida and had
many friends.
Mary’s talents were endless, she was an avid golfer and achieved the very rare “hole in one”, an
extremely accomplished seamstress, a square dancer, talented cook, a beloved wife, dedicated mother,
grandmother, and friend who helped those in need and loved to entertain. She enjoyed camping with
her family and traveling. She has shared her Award-winning quilts and projects with family and friends
leaving behind cherished family heirlooms.
Preceded in death by her husband, Warren Whitmore, and daughter Cindy Whitmore, she is survived by
her children, Suzanne, Lois, Marilyn and son Stephen. She has four grandchildren, Tammy, Marianna,
Sandra and Angeline and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Weston.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations made payable to the Employee Appreciation Fund.

This is a sad time and the last of a great lady. I have many happy memories that I get to keep in my heart. What she gave me in times past can never be replaced. I wish I could be there to celebrate this wonderful person. I send my hugs to all.

So very sad. We loved Mary. I know it is so hard on all the family. She was a wonderful neighbor for over 30 years in succasunna we will miss knowing she is not here our love and prayers are with the whole family
